Free Thermography Online Training

Optimum Energy Products has been selling infrared cameras for many years. Over that time, our trained thermographers have noticed an increasing trend toward novice thermographers entering the market with little or no formal training.

The truth is thermography can be a complicated science and even cameras that are marketed as point-and-shoot are only point-and-shoot in the hands of someone with the knowledge to use them effectively.

All thermal imagers, regardless of price, features and marketing labels require some level of training to be used effectively. Without a basic working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal science and a good understanding of what the camera actually sees, it would be all to easy to think that the image and temperatures on the screen actually represent the temperature of the objects out-of-the-box. This will rarely be the case .... unless the user understands fundamental IR concepts like emissivity and reflectivity and knows how to account for them, the images and temperature data will likely be incorrect, possibly substantially so.

To address this, we've packaged a series of online training courses created by ITC (Infrared Training Center) that we offer our customers for free. That's right. It's so important that every user has this basic knowledge that we rebate you 100% of the cost if you choose to purchase an imager from us! We call it the Optimum Learning Experience and it's only available at shopFLIR.com

Depending on your application and choice of imager, we will cover the cost of one or some of the courses listed below. They are web-based, on-demand multimedia learning course that you can take in your own time.

To get started, simply contact one of our on-staff trained level one thermographers by email info@optimumenergy.com or phone (toll free in North America on 1-877-766-5412 and they explain how it works, sign you up and send you a login.

These online training courses are an excellent option to introduce you to the fundamentals but there is no substitute to taking real in-classroom training with an experienced professional so you can learn first-hand and ask questions. For those that require a solid base and want to become a level one thermographer, we offer ITC-1 Level One Thermography training course. The is the same training that our own on-staff thermographers have all taken.

Thermography Essentials

These essential courses are designed for the novice thermographer. They will help you understand the fundamentals of thermography, the science behind it and help you to understand exactly how an infrared thermal imaging camera works.
