The FLIR T620 builds on the FLIR E-series’ innovative capabilities and adds an industry-best 307,200 pixel (640 x 480) infrared resolution, thermal sensitivity to <0.05°C, 650°C temperature range capability, 4.3” screen, available color viewfinder for bright jobsites, advanced measurement modes, and a 5 MP digital camera.

FLIR T640 Key Features

Temperature

The FLIR T640 features the highest-quality 307,200 pixel (640 x 480) infrared resolution which updates at 30Hz and delivers temperature measurement with <0.035°C thermal sensitivity and 2% accuracy. It features one temperature range suitable for electrical / mechnical applications from -4F to 1,202F (-20C to 650C).

Hardware

Thermal images are displayed on a 4.3” bright touch screen display with large backlit buttons that fit a bare hands or gloves. The newly developed housing is the most rugged that FLIR has ever built. The battery is a Li Ion battery that lasts 3 hours continuous use. Memory comes in the form of a 2GB microSD card that stores 1000 images including thermographic data.

Measurement Modes & On-Screen Analysis

This infrared camera offers 5 measurement modes: 3 moveable spots, 3 area boxes with min/max indicators, isotherm (above or below threshold alarms), auto hot/cold spot and delta T (differential temperature), Voice/Text Annotation and Video Recording. In addition, the FLIR E50 includes visual insulation and dewpoint alarms for the easy detection of poor/missing insulation and moisture.

Images & Visualization

Thermal images can be displayed using any of 12 different color palettes or inverted versions of each one for a total of 12 different palettes.

In addition to the full thermal image display, this thermal imager includes a 5MP visual light camera and a fixed-size picture-in-picture display that overlays the thermal image over the visual light image to place the thermal image into context. A bright LED light is built-in to illuminate the target for visual light images and a laser pointer indicates both the physical target and an indicator represents the position of the laser pointer on the display.

One of the most impressive features about the FLIR T640, is that it has 2 cameras; one on either side of the lens. This allows for faster focusing by giving the camera 2 perspectives of the object.

The T640 can take full advantage of FLIR Tools mobile app, capable of being operated remotely via an iPad, iphone, or android mobile device. This robust software also allows for the editing and sending of thermography reports from the field..

Communications

The FLIR T640 includes composite and miniUSB video outputs as well as several innovative communications technologies that are unique to the FLIR line. These include METERLINK for reading moisture information from some Extech clamp meters and Bluetooth communication to a PC or SmartPhone.

Software and Reporting

The FLIR T640 thermal imaging camera includes Instant Report software that allow the thermographer to instantly create a professional reports right from the camera! Reports include the thermal and visual images along with readings from temperature measurement (like spots, boxes, min/max, etc) and text/sketch annotations in a PDF format thatʼs easy to share right from the touchscreen. This handy time-saving feature is unique to FLIR products.
